marriage ( is it worth it)

when is the right age for marriage that is the question i ask myself, some say early marriage is the best and some say both parties have to be matured enough to handle issues...so i ask which is best...early marriage or wait till one is matured enough..come to think of it, does AGE mean MATURED.....I had this talk on marriage with a friend of mine, who is getting married soon and she said to her their are three things she saw in her man, 1. the right person, 2. the one you love, 3. the one you marry and it got me thinking....even the ones in marriage are seeking attention outside their marriages...You have the men having affairs like it dont mean anything and even the women now are looking for men to make them feel complete or have that sense of womanhood...the question now is why go through all the stress of printing cards, planning an event, spending so much and still be unhappy....is it that the essence of marriage has lost its values or that marriage is not just enough.....I do hope to get married some day but with the present trend i often wonder....DO I HAVE TO SUBJECT MYSELF TO ALL THIS HASTLE CALLED MARRIAGE TO END UP DIVORCING AGAIN
this pic is a picture of two people hooking up and looking so happy that this day has finally come to pass but do you think they are doing this for the right reasons......some people marry for convenience sake...like someone said look for a man that will take care of you and your kids...whatever happened to marry the love of your life or is LOVE NOT ENOUGH anymore..this and more are the question i ask myself and time keeps ticking...you have the pressure from parents about TRIBAL issues and RELIGION,the list goes on......SO FINALLY I ASK IS MARRIAGE WORTH IT

men are romantic in their own weird man-way

The truth is, men convey their feelings in their wierd man-ways. women prefer love to be shown romantically, they want to feel all the frills and seduction, as a result, they miss all the tangible stuffs that a practical minded guy is prone to do. lets look at some examples...men are very lousy when it comes to picking out gifts, a girl will rather expect to get a gift that will make her squeal with joy but a man will rather get a functional item instead of a romantic one. its just his way of wanting to meet your needs and to make life easier which is loving and caring but least sexy and romantic...When it comes to men and how they show affection to their women, 80% will surely fail but that does not mean they dont love you, its just that they show it in a wierd man-way...so if you have one of those rare ones that are in touch with their feminine side, dont lose him for there are vultures out there ready to snatch him off you

bryan_bare
Brian Okwara
Strive premieres this March in Nigeria. The cast includes Brian Okwara, Yemi Blaq, Ayo Popoola, Lilian Esoro, Uru Eke and Femi Ijawo.
SYNOPSIS

The disappearance of his younger brother at age eight (8) and the death of his parents at age 13 made Ray Osas Omorodion (Bryan Okwara) into the person he now is. Subconsciously blaming himself for his brother’s disappearance, Jay now has the messianic tendency of saving others even if it throws him in harm’s way.

One person he has now come to value like a brother is Frank Ogaga (Yemi Blaq). Their bond grew through the orphanage they found themselves. Frank’s like family to him, and although they had varying views on how they perceived life, they loved each other (even if they never said the words). Leaving the orphanage together, they become street hustlers and pick pockets although their approaches to it differed. Once they were two, now four - including Jenny Okafor(Lilian Esoro) whom Ray sees like a sister and Frank likes; and Swag (Ayo Popoola) (Femi Iwajo) their drug addict buddy;

Jay suddenly wants out of this life especially after meeting Sophia Olanrewaju(Uru Eke) - the lady he has feelings for; he straightens his act working in a bar and helping people. Jenny soon follows suit. Ray’s smart and has goodness about him, trying hard to stay out of crime and hoping to someday be a broadcaster. Frank’s the complete opposite with a growing hate and a nag for crime. Believing it’s the only way for people (not smart) like him. His dream is to be the leader of the big league (the most notorious gang in the area).

An encounter with Bode Jordan-Akintunde (BJ - leader of the Big league and owner of Jordan’s Haven) (Bimbo Manuel) further separates the two, and a little insight given by Scar (Samson Smart - a snitch) on BJ’s activities placed the two on opposing ends with Bruno joining the big league and committing crime, and Jay a sabotage. More like a crime fighter.

Things complicate when Swag dies of drug overdose, and further when Scar is killed by BJ. Jenny gets caught up in Jordan’s haven and has senator Okoli (a business associate of the haven) (Kunle Coker) on her trail, which she almost kills. Ray now has to trade himself for Jenny. BJ’s not a clean business man so he keeps the two. The senator now has Jenny, BJ has Ray

BJ tells Frank the last test to becoming number two (2) is killing Ray. Frank tries but does not have the heart for it. BJ does the job himself. Frank survives, thanks to a dog tag he made of his mothers silver slab with her treasured advices crested on it. Sophia gets her dad to call the police not on BJ’s payroll; BJ and the big league are rounded up by the police. The haven’s activities end

The lives of these two orphans set the center stage of this movie as events of love, hate, quest and other dynamics of the Nigerian environment are brought to the fore, giving the movie a savor of sub-stories
dressed like the king he has always been....

fact of life

"I don't wanna lose you now, we're gonna get through somehow
I don't wanna lose you now forever, never
Baby I finally found the courage to stand my ground
But if you want me, I'll be around forever, forever..."

that is actually from a song by Gloria Estefan "dont wanna lose you"
That's one song that made sense even till now...
We find ourselves loving that person that doesnt want you but you hang in there...Ask yourself -WHY....Trust me you can if you want to have a better life...Out there is that great person waiting to shower you with all the love you deserve....i know its easier said than done but fight for it if its worth it but know when to count your loses....Some relationships arent made to last so savour the good times and move on.....

unbelieveably true

Nigerian Gay Church Resume Operations In Lagos

Less than five years after Nigeria-only gay church, House of Rainbow, was attacked by some Lagos residents and consequently closed down in Nigeria, the church has returned to the country with three secret groups in the African most populous nation.
With this development, Nigeria appears to lead other countries where the church currently operates.
Founded by Nigerian-born gay, Rev. Rowland Jide Macaulay, House of Rainbow, which came to Nigeria in 2006, is “an inclusive and affirming religious community open and welcome to all people including sexual minorities and marginalised people, a monthly gathering of ‘people of faith’ for ‘prayer and praise’, which focuses on the person’s journey towards reconciliation of sexuality and spirituality.”
Macaulay, a trained lawyer and son of a reverend who owns a massive church in Lagos, is leading the comeback even though he remains in self-imposed exile in London, where sources said he currently enjoys lots of financial sponsorship for the movement.
Unlike in the pre-2008 when the church openly operated at Jakande Estate, Isolo, and Berger in Lagos, Macaulay, who is the backbone of the movement, is not secretive of the meeting places and time of the church in Nigeria, but has instituted a very stringent process to screen prospective members of coming to join the church.
It was learnt that aside Nigeria, the church has two groups each in Ghana and United Kingdom (UK).
“We now have new groups in Malawi and Ghana. There are currently three groups in Nigeria, two each in Ghana and the UK and one each in Malawi, Lesotho and Burundi. All these groups are managed by volunteers, who are appointed through a rigorous ‘Local Leader Application’ process.
“We currently have 12 appointed Local Leaders in 6 countries. Currently we have over 25 outstanding applications for local leaders including, but not limited to the following locations: France, Netherlands, Cote d’Ivoire, Sierra-Leone. This has continued to strengthen the interest and work of House Of Rainbow particularly in Africa,” Macaulay
